If you’ve been well out the loop for the past couple of weeks, it’s okay. Exhale – you’ve landed yourself in the right place. We’re about to hit you with some big stuff.

1. VERVE IS BACK

Refresh your twitter feed, get on the new mailing list, dust of your poetry boots, you’re old friend is back in town.

2. VERVE HAS A NEW HOME

That’s right – we’re gearing things up a notch next year – VERVE is set to be bigger, better, wigglier.

We’re really proud to announce that next Feb we will be taking over The Old Rep Theatre for four days – let the Verve ensue!

It’s a beautiful, historic venue in the beating heart of Birmingham – exactly 4.5 seconds from platform 4, New Street.

3. VERVE HAS NEW FUNDING

Part of the above news is a result of the fact that we have secured our funding for the next two years! We want to extend our thanks to Arts Council England, for allowing Verve to happen. This means 2019 is going to be ginormous. The line-up is already so big its struggling to fit on the Google Drive. We can’t wait for you to see it.

4. IN THE MEANTIME….

Wow – glad we got all that off our chests. We’re very very excited to get stuff out there about Verve 2019.

BUT – we know all you Verve fans too well. You can’t wait for February! You’re already scrambling for your keys and the door at the prospect of the such levels of poetry in Birmingham city centre.

Well don’t panic – Verve have only gone and booked Terrance Hayes for the only midlands appearance out of his 10 day tour of the UK. He is supported by our very own Cynthia Miller and Verve Poetry Press veteran Casey Bailey.

Aren’t you lucky to have us?

Date: 17th October ~ 7pm – 9pm
Venue: Waterstones Birmingham
Tickets: £5 here

In addition – did you know our Verve Poetry Festival Competition for 2018 is live?!?
